HL Whales — Hyperliquid whales
Real-time positions of the largest Hyperliquid traders: a summary of whale longs and shorts by coin, a feed of opens and closes, top positions with leverage, entry and liquidation price.
What it is
Hyperliquid is a decentralized exchange: the positions of every account on it are public. HL Whales watches the largest accounts and shows what they hold and how they change positions.
A whale is an account with at least $1M of equity in perpetual futures, sub-accounts included. We take candidates from the Hyperliquid leaderboard every 6 hours and poll positions in a loop about every 2 minutes. About 270 whales are tracked now.
The widget is in the menu "Screeners → Microstructure → HL Whales", Pro plan and above. Clicking a row opens the market on the chart, clicking a whale opens its account on hypurrscan.
Coins

The Coins tab: whale positions for each coin.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Longs | Total notional of whale longs in the coin; gray — how many whales are long |
| Shorts | Total notional of whale shorts; gray — how many whales are short |
| L/S | Share of longs in the total notional of whale positions in the coin |
| Net | Longs minus shorts, $ |
| Δ1h, Δ24h | Change of net whale position over an hour and over a day. On hover — longs and shorts separately. A dash means the service has not been running long enough |
Feed

The Feed tab: whale position changes.
Each row is a whale position change. Event types:
| Type | What happened |
|---|---|
| open | A new position was opened |
| add | The position was increased |
| cut | The position was reduced |
| close | The position was closed |
| flip | The position was flipped to the opposite side |
The "Δ 250k. The threshold and event types are set in the filters window.
Top

The Top tab: the largest whale positions.
The largest open positions: coin, side, notional, unrealized PnL (gray — return on margin), leverage, entry, liquidation price and "Held" — how long the service has seen this position. A dash in "Held" means the position was opened before the service started.
How to use it
- A strong net skew and its change over an hour — where large accounts are shifting on a coin. It stands out most when Δ1h grows against the current price move.
- Liquidation prices of large positions — levels where a cascade may start: if price gets there, the position is closed by force. Compare with the Liquidation Map.
- Flips in the feed from several whales on one coin in a short time — a reason to open its chart.
The summary shows positions, not strategy profitability. We store the event history to test "follow the whales", but have not yet measured whether it beats the market.
